Course Objectives The aim of this course is to learn the pathogenesis, epidemiological features, symptoms and signs of gastrointestinal, reproductive system, sensorial, musculoskeletal, neurologic, psychiatric, geriatric diseases, and related diagnostic algorithms, drugs used in treatment, management of the emergency situations, prevention strategies and the foundation of palliative care.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explain the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal system diseases, associate the related signs and symptoms with the pathophysiological mechanisms.
  • Generate evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for selected gastrointestinal system disorders by using the principles of critical thinking and clinical reasoning, taking into account the mechanisms of action and adverse effects of drugs used in the management of these disorders.
  • Explain the pathogenesis of reproductive system diseases and association of signs and symptoms with the related pathophysiological mechanisms
  • Generate evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for selected reproductive system disorders by using the principles of critical thinking and clinical reasoning, taking into account the mechanisms of action and adverse effects of drugs used in the management of these disorders
  • Generate diagnostic algorithm and management strategies in early and late pregnancy and labor problems by relating the symptoms and signs with the pathophysiological mechanisms.
  • Explain the pathogenesis of musculoskeletal system diseases and association of signs and symptoms with the related pathophysiological mechanisms
