| Course Objectives | In this course, students will learn; the structure and functions of male and female reproductive systems, pregnancy and birth processes, embryonic and fetal developmental characteristics, structure and function of skeletal muscles, types of exercise and their importance for health, organization of the nervous system, development of central and peripheral nervous systems, the structure and functions of nervous system and sensory organs. In the part that deals with the biological basis of human behavior, it is aimed that students comprehend how sensory perception is formed, how motor movement is controlled, how higher cortical functions and learning and memory mechanisms are carried out. In this context, students will learn the structure and functions of the reproductive system, muscle, nervous system and sensory organs, their development, the strategies that the nervous system uses to perceive the inner and outer world and to create appropriate responses and finally to store its experience. In addition, it is aimed to comprehend neural transmission mechanisms, structures, classifications, receptors, signal transmission pathways and metabolism of neurotransmitters and neuromodulators. |
