Course Objectives At the end of this course; the students are expected to explain important childhood and reproductive health problems and explain health services to control them, explain how the health services should be given during disasters and discuss ethical aspects of reproductive health services, approach to pediatric and elderly patients, and people with mental diseases.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explain important childhood health problems in Türkiye
  • Explain the child health services and their quality provided by the Ministry of Health in Türkiye, and create policy recommendations to improve them..
  • Define concepts of reproductive health and reproductive rights.
  • Explain reproductive health level in Türkiye
  • Explain reproductive health services and their quality provided by Ministry of Health, discuss policy recommendations to improve them.
  • Discuss the ethical aspects of child health services.
  • Explain how health services should be planned in disasters
  • Discuss ethical aspects of health services for elderly patients.
  • Discuss ethical aspects of mental health problems.
  • Explain the ethical values and moral responsibilities of the medical professional.
  • Explain issues regarding disaster ethics and medical professionalism
  • Use reflective practice and self-evaluation for personal and professional development and collects personal achievement artifacts in an electronic format.
Course Description This course includes prevention of childhood health problems, reproductive health problems, disadvantaged groups’ problems, health services during disasters and the ethical aspects of reproductive health services, approach to pediatric and elderly patients and people with mental diseases.
