Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce the basic principles of clinical reasoning education and to gain critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills through structured clinical scenarios.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Demonstrate appropriate clinical skills in patient-oriented history taking.
  • Apply clinical reasoning skills over structured clinical scenarios, including data organization, development of summary statements, problem representation, and prioritized differential diagnosis
  • Generate evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for selected system disorders by using critical thinking and clinical reasoning principles
  • Define the relation of diseases with lifestyle behaviors and propose lifestyle interventions for prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related disorders
  • Recognize common cognitive biases encountered in clinical practice through the practice of metacognition
  • Prepare and present a patient medical report.
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective work of the teams she/he takes part.
  • Evaluate the performance of the team and her/himself and create development strategies.
Course Description Clinical Basis of Medicine VI course includes clinical skills related to evaluation and management of disorders in the gastrointestinal system, psychiatry, nervous system, eye, ear-nose-throat, integumentary and musculoskeletal system, reproductive system and geriatric disorders.
